Uczniostwo-Discipleship?

Dwa tygodnie temu odbył się koncert „Fruhstuck” na akademikach Politechniki w Krakowie. Mieli dobre przesłanie, dobrą muzykę (świetne teksty!), wspaniałą interakcję ze słuchaczami. Ten koncert był ewangelizacyjną akcją grupy „Godinthecity”. Wielu ze studentów piło piwo i paliło papierosy podczas trwania koncertu, ale słuchali i tańczyli.

Podczas trwania koncertu dużo myślałem o tym co stanie się po koncercie? Jezus powiedział: „Idźcie tedy i czyńcie uczniami wszystkie narody, chrzcząc je w imię Ojca i Syna, i Ducha Świętego. Ucząc je przestrzegać wszystkiego, co wam przykazałem. A oto Ja jestem z wami po wszystkie dni aż do skończenia świata.” (Mat. 28:19-20). W tych fragmentach centralnym greckim słowem jest „czynić uczniami”. Jak my mamy czynić uczniami- a nie tylko nawracać ludzi? Jak wygląda uczniostwo? Czy jest to tylko codzienne czytanie Biblii, modlitwa, bycie na nabożeństwie kilka godzin w niedzielę? A może uczniostwo jest czymś bardziej formalnym: kursem składającym się z 12 lekcji, na którym poznajesz cały materiał i uczysz się go recytować innym?

Wiem że nie jestem pierwszym, który zadaje te pytania. Ale pytanie dotyczące tego, jak wygląda nasz proces czynienia ludzi uczniami Chrystusa powinno być poważnie rozpatrzone. Dla Jezusa był to proces. On spędzał czas z 120 ludźmi- w ciągłej interakcji- szczególnie z dwunastoma. Zadawał im pytania- ponieważ przez to uczyli się lepiej. Mieli też wolność do tego by zadawać Mu pytania- na które on zwykle odpowiadał jakąś alegorią. Dla mnie dwie kluczowe kwestie w procesie czynienia uczniami przez Jezusa to czas i uwalnianie do służby. Następnym razem napiszę o tych dwóch sprawach trochę więcej.

Two weeks ago there was a Fruhstuck concert at the Politechnik dorms in Krakow. They had a good message, the music also good (and lyrics were excellent), and the crowd interaction was great. This concert was an evangelistic outreach of Godinthecity. Many of the students were drinking beer and smoking during the koncert, but they were listening and dancing.

Since the concert I have thought a lot about what happens after the concert? Jesus said, "Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. I am with you to the very end of the Age." Mat. 28:19-20. In these verses, the main Greek verb is make disciples. How do we make disciples and not just converts? What does discipleship look like? Is it simply daily Bible reading and prayer, attending a meeting with other people for a couple of hours each Sunday? Or is it more formal and include going through 12 lessons where we know the material and can recite it to someone else.

I know I am not the first person to ask these questions. But the question of what our discipleship process looks like needs to be considered. It was a process to Jesus. He spent His time with 120 people in an interactive way -especially the 12. He asked them questions -because they learned better this way. They were free to ask Him questions -which He usually replied to with a story. The 2 keys for me to Jesus' discipleship process were time and releasing. I will write more about these points next time.
